Adviser of the year
The Adviser of the Year goes beyond the call of duty to contribute to the success of the organization and its members. This award honors an adviser who takes seriously their role in developing student leaders and promoting student success.

Nominees must meet the following requirements:
  •  Serves as an adviser of record to a Level I or Level II organization.
  • Acts in a volunteer capacity outside the scope of their primary faculty or staff role at SFA.

Baker Pattillo Student Leader of the Year
The Baker Pattillo Student Leader of the Year Award is given to the senior who best exemplifies leadership and scholarship at SFA. It is awarded to a student who demonstrates outstanding commitment to their academics and fellow students as shown through the student’s activities and significant contributions to the University and community.

Nominees must meet the following requirements:
  • Considered a senior by hours
  • In good standing with the university

Organization of the Year
Organization of the Year awards are given to an outstanding small (fewer than 29 members) and large (more than 30 members) registered student organization. From arranging outstanding programs to volunteering their time in the community, these organizations stand out. The organization also promotes academic success for its members and seeks opportunities to work with other groups on campus and in the community.

Nominees must meet the following requirements:
  • Only Level I and Level II student organizations are eligible to apply. Organizations which receive an annual budget from the University cannot apply.
  • The Small Organization of the Year may have no more than 29 active members.
  • The Large Organization of the Year may have no fewer than 30 active members.
  • The organization must be in good standing with the Office of Student Affairs Programs.

Program of the Year
The Program of the Year award honors one exemplary program each year. This program was thoughtfully promoted, well-managed, fiscally responsible, well-attended and impacted the University in a positive way.

Nominees must meet the following requirements:
  • Sponsored and implemented by a Level I or Level II organization
  • Was open to all students
  • Took place between March 24, 2012 and the submission of this nomination

Program of the Year – Tier III
The Program of the Year award honors one exemplary program each year. This program was thoughtfully promoted, well-managed, fiscally responsible, well-attended and impacted the University in a positive way.

 Nominees must meet the following requirements:

   -Sponsored and implemented by one of the following organizations:
  •    Student Activities Association
  •    Student Government Association
  •    Residence Hall Association
  •    Traditions Council 
   -Organizations are limited to two program nominations per organization
   -Was open to all students
   -Took place between March 24, 2012 and the submission of this nomination

Service Organization of the Year
The Service Organization of the Year award is given to the student organization that demonstrates an outstanding commitment to service on campus and in their community.

Nominees must meet the following requirements:

  • Only Level I and Level II student organizations are eligible to apply. Organizations which receive an annual budget from the University cannot apply.
  • The organization must be in good standing with the Office of Student Affairs Programs.

  • The nominated program must not be a social event or a fundraiser for the organization itself
  • Took place between March 24, 2012 and the submission of this application.

Top 23 Freshmen
Each year, 23 outstanding freshmen are chosen to be part of our Top 23 Freshmen. These students have gone above and beyond in their first year at SFA to get involved in student organizations, take on leadership roles, and help improve their campus and surrounding community. Many of our past Top 23 Freshmen have gone on to take impressive leadership positions on campus.

 Nominees must meet the following requirements:
  •  May be considered a sophomore in Spring 2013 by hours, as long as they were a first-year student in Fall 2012

Underclassman Student Leader of the Year
The Underclassman Student Leader of the Year Award is given to the student who best exemplifies leadership and scholarship at SFA. It is awarded to a student who demonstrates outstanding commitment to their academics and fellow students as shown through the student’s activities and significant contributions to the University and community.

Nominees must meet the following requirements:
  • Is a freshman, sophomore, or junior by hours
  • In good standing with the university

Volunteer of the Year
This award is given to an outstanding student who demonstrates dedication to service in their community. This award is not given strictly based on the number of hours served, though the volume of service is taken into account.
